Intensive Volleyball Training for Girls under the Direction of Dedicated Volleyball Coaches

Clash Volleyball Club’s Professional Coaches combine knowledge, skill, and experience to provide a challenging and positive learning environment for players at all skill levels.  Along with a focus on improving their overall volleyball performance, players will also develop and improve their leadership, followership, and team-based performance.

All of our coaches are trained under the United States Volleyball Association (USVA). Aside from being well-trained coaches, they have also been background-checked and certified.

Coaches Bio's

Michele Blue 

CAP I Certified

Michele has been a part of the Clash family for over 13 years now.  She has coached many teams in the 12s, 13s, 16s, 17s and 18s age group, including an 18s team that won the Old Dominion regional title in 2010. From 2011-2013, Michele worked as the Technical Director for the club.  She provided instruction to all levels of volleyball players, teams, and coaches as well as lead middle and high school camps during the summer.  Michele completed a distinguished run as the Varsity Head Coach for Osbourn Park High School, where she won three District titles, made two state tournament appearances and was named Washington Post’s All-Area Coach of the Year twice. Michele has also coached for several swim teams in Prince William County and the Osbourn Park boys and girls swim teams.

As a player, Michele was part of Osbourn Park’s first district title team and was named Potomac News Player of the Year for the 1996 season. A graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor of arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, she completed graduate level work at George Mason to receive her teaching license in PK-6. She currently teaches at Piney Branch Elementary in Bristow. Michele lives in Bristow with her husband Wes and children Zachary (16) and Ashley (13).


Matt Piette 
CAP I Certified

Matt has been with Clash since the 2007-2008 season coaching the 13 to 15 year old group. Matt played three years of Varsity volleyball for his high school in Western New York. He continues to play in recreational leagues and is currently the Head Coach at Reagan Middle School. 

Matt will use his knowledge and experince to work with the girls to improve their skills and their knowledge of volleyball.

Matt currently teaches 8th Grade Science at Reagan Middle School. He lives in Bristow with his wife Erin, daughter Paige (6), son Patrick (5) and their 3 four legged friends.


Meaghan Emery 
CAP I Certified

Meaghan has been a part of the Clash family for more than 11 years.  She played for Clash from the fifth grade through her senior year in high school. During college, Meaghan assisted with coaching the Clash 15N in the 2011-2012 season at the East Coast Championship and AAU Championship in Orlando.  Since then, she has coached the 13s, 16s & 17s over the past several years.  

 Meaghan played three years of varsity at Osbourn Park High School and graduated in 2012 from Davis and Elkins College (Division II) where she was on scholarship and was their starting libero.  She continues to play in recreational leagues.

Meaghan teaches autistic children at Rockledge Elementary School in Woodbridge and is currently pursuing her masters degree in Special Education which is a passion of hers.  She is also the Varsity coach for Osbourn Park High School where she was voted Coach of the Year for her district in 2016.


Nikki Piette 

Nikki joined the Clash family last year and is excited to be a part of the coaching staff once again. She played 4 years of varsity volleyball for her high school in Western New York, played for Niagara University (Division I) where she was their starting middle/outside hitter, and continues to play in recreational leagues. She also previously coached both boys and girls volleyball in Western New York, and looks forward to sharing her experience and passion for coaching with Clash VBC.

Nikki currently works at Inova Children's Hospital in Falls Church as a pediatric oncology pharmacist. She lives in Annandale with her fiancee and their four legged friend Bruce.


Christie Kirby

Christie has been a part of the Clash family for 6 years and is excited to join the coaching staff.  She played for Clash from the sixth grade through her senior year in high school.  Christie also played three years of varisty at Osbourn Park High School, earning first team All District and first team All Area.  She then continued her career at Christopher Newport University as their Libero, earning two NCAA conference titles.  

Christie currently coaches the Freshman volleyball team at Colgan High School.  She lives in Manassas with her husband, Brent and their four legged friend, Lola.  


Kassi Ziegler 

Kassi has been a part of the Clash family for 4 years as well as a member of the Osbourn Park High School volleyball team.  She continues to enjoy the sport of volleyball through recreational teams and is extremely excited to join the Clash coaching staff this year!

Kassi currently coaches the Freshman team at Osbourn Park High School and works at OP as an Administrative Assistant.  She also attends NOVA and will be attending George Mason University next year where she is working toward her Business Management degree.    

Kassi lives in Bristow with her mother, Katheryn, and her dog, Kona.



Lindsey Macdonald

Lindsey first became a part of the Clash family when she played for them from ages 15-17 years old.   She also played for Forest Park High School all four years and currently still plays in recreational leagues.  In 2012-2013, she joined the coaching staff for the 12s-13s team, and has since coached the 18s team.  

Lindsey attended JMU for her undergraduate program, and received her Master’s in Teaching from George Mason.  She is currently an art teacher at Gainesville Middle School. Lindsey looks forward to sharing her love of volleyball and watching players develop their skills and confidence over the season.



Ray Emery III 

Coach Ray is returning to Clash for his second season. Last year, he was the assistant coach for the 16s team and previously with the 15s team. He really enjoyed working with the girls and is looking forward to another great season. Ray has played volleyball since he was 10 years old, indoor and on the beach. He has played competitively for about 20 years and has competed in professional tournaments in both indoor and beach volleyball. While stationed in Germany, he represented the US Air Force in the Allied Air Forces, Central Europe (AIRCENT) tournament as well as many other tournaments throughout his Air Force career.

Ray lives in Remington, VA with his wife Katerina and their daughters Kayla and Alyssa.
